A French visitor from the Var region has died in Death Valley in the United States after his car broke down. The vehicle became stranded during a severe heatwave. The man walked away from his car and headed out to seek help in the extreme heat. Temperatures soared to 47 degrees Celsius at the time.

He lost his life while trying to get help. The tourist was travelling through Death Valley when his car stopped working during the heatwave. He was from the Var area in France. He abandoned his stuck car to look for aid in the 47 degree heat.
