Liverpool academy product Lewis Koumas wants more first-team minutes under recently appointed manager Andoni Iraola. His summer tour opportunity comes after Iraola’s first match in charge saw Liverpool overcome Sunderland by 4-2 in Nashville. Sunderland, recently beaten by Liverpool, now appears as a potential loan option for Koumas. The 21-year-old joined Sunderland’s Nashville base this week but may face tough competition for playing time from other club players. Iraola took over on July 24, 2026, with Koumas one of several academy products pushing for bigger involvement in the first team.
