Supreme Court rejects Roy Moore's push to restore $8.2M defamation verdict - AP News

Roy Moore Loses Supreme Court Bid to Restore Defamation Ruling

The US Supreme Court has rejected Roy Moore's appeal to restore an $8.2 million defamation verdict in his favour. The court turned down the appeal on 5 October 2026, closing off Moore's effort to reinstate the jury's original ruling.

The dispute stems from a campaign advertisement. Moore had maintained the verdict should stand in his favour, but the Supreme Court's rejection leaves the lower court outcome in place against him.
