The National Rugby League altered its rules to provide Jai Arrow special dispensation. The decision follows his forced retirement from rugby league owing to motor neurone disease. This special dispensation allows Arrow to reach 100 games for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Deeply moved Rabbitohs players learned of the decision. He can now reach a century.
Elsewhere, a man given a diagnosis of MND 29 years ago remains ill but alive. In a further case, a UK patient aged 36 was informed he has 10 years to live following his diagnosis.
