He will visit France and will attend the State of the EU address.
According to reports, he has suggested making Canada an affiliated member of the European Union.
Carney stated visa regulations and possible visa-free travel will feature in the negotiations.
Some commentators note the bloc's positive view of Carney is no guarantee of more straightforward trade agreements.
