A marine mammal was transferred from Marineland in Niagara Falls, Ontario to a Chicago aquarium. It died a short time later. The move was completed before the loss.
Marineland also sent four dolphins and two belugas to an aquarium in Spain. Now the park no longer houses dolphins. Only belugas remain at the site.
The transfer made the facility quieter. Staff monitor water quality and animal health. Visitors see far fewer animals. The park’s visitor count declined.
The wooded surroundings remain the same. The water continues to be strong. The park retains a small number of belugas. Visitors observe fewer scheduled shows. The water stays clear.
