Essendon defender Jordan Ridley has been traded to Geelong, with the deal confirmed on 7 October 2026. The trade sends utility Jack Bowes to Essendon along with four draft picks.
Ridley had been strongly connected to the Cats after Essendon placed a firm price on the defender. Essendon were holding out for significant return throughout the trade period.
The finalised deal gives Geelong an seasoned backline option while Essendon receives Bowes and additional selections. Bowes is a multi-position player who adds depth to the Essendon list heading into the upcoming year.
