Hurricane Simon has intensified into Category 4 as it closes in on Mexico's Pacific coast, posing the greatest direct threat of three storms occurring simultaneously. Tropical Storm Rachel is also heading for Mexico, creating extra strain for authorities managing the dual threat.

Separately, Hurricane Isaias has made landfall in the Gulf region of the United States. The unusual combination of three named storms puts both the Mexican Pacific coast and parts of the US Gulf facing serious weather alerts. Emergency services on both sides of the border are working to prepare communities, while forecasters continue to monitor the movement of all three systems. The situation remains highly fluid, with conditions expected to deteriorate further in coming hours.
