CenterPoint Energy confirmed that personal data of customers was exposed in a data breach. Class action lawsuits were filed after the breach. The company said operations remain unaffected and that personal customer data was obtained.

Separately, the FBI notified Springfield officials that a cyber attack on a school amounted to a data breach that possibly exposed Social Security numbers. Student and employee data were compromised in the Springfield Public Schools incident, the FBI said. The FBI gave the warning to local officials.
