Canadians are heading into Thanksgiving weekend with higher grocery bills, as multiple outlets report turkey and feast costs are up this year. Shoppers are spending more on holiday staples, with CityNews Calgary and Global News both noting the growing strain on household budgets.
Parts of the Prairies may receive up to 10 cm of snow over the long weekend, making road trips more difficult. The OPP warns Thanksgiving is one of the most dangerous long weekends for road fatalities in Ontario. Drivers are urged to plan ahead and adjust their routes before hitting the road.
On a lighter note, fall colours are peaking in Gatineau Park, attracting crowds to the area before the season shifts toward winter.
